Rob Buchan

Rob Buchan is a Partner and Senior Director at KBF Advisory with extensive experience providing audit, accounting, and financial reporting services to both public and private companies. His background spans a wide range of industries, including technology, manufacturing, and forest products, where he advises organizations ranging from early-stage companies to multinational enterprises.

Rob specializes in technical accounting, SEC reporting, financial reporting, and transaction-related consulting. He works closely with clients on complex accounting matters, including business combinations, revenue recognition, debt issuances, share-based compensation, SOX compliance, and public company reporting requirements. In addition to leading audit engagements, Rob provides practical guidance that helps clients navigate evolving accounting standards and significant business transactions.

Before joining KBF in 2020, Rob spent his career with KPMG in Portland, where he advanced to Senior Manager and became a recognized technical accounting resource within the firm. Throughout his career, he has advised clients through acquisitions, initial public offerings, spin-offs, and other transformative transactions, bringing both technical experience and practical insight to every engagement.
