Shane Orr

Shane Orr is a Managing Director at KBF Advisory with extensive experience providing corporate tax consulting, compliance, and outsourced tax department services to public and private companies. His practice focuses on ASC 740 accounting for income taxes, tax planning, and strategic tax advisory, serving organizations ranging from emerging growth companies to Fortune 1000 enterprises.

Shane advises clients on a broad range of corporate tax matters, including tax provision assistance, research and development credits, tax accounting methods, purchase accounting, stock-based compensation, mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property migration, and international tax planning. He also works closely with companies operating globally, helping coordinate worldwide tax services while supporting complex financial reporting and compliance requirements.

Before joining KBF in 2016, Shane served as the Tax Office Managing Partner for BDO in San Diego. Throughout his career, he has advised clients across the life sciences, medical device, technology, consumer products, and manufacturing industries, bringing a practical and collaborative approach to solving complex tax challenges.
